Toprak Razgatlioglu is looking as fit as he is confident ahead of his season of World Superbike title defence – and it’s likely to be his final WorldSBK campaign (for now, at least) before the Turkish star heads off to MotoGP in 2023…
2022 sees Razgatlioglu become the first rider in World Superbike history to carry the prestigious and famed number 1 plate aboard a Yamaha. Only one rider has claimed the title before him on a blue bike, and that was Ben Spies in 2009, although the number 1 was never seen aboard the R1 as the American headed straight off to MotoGP in 2010. Should Toprak go on to become World Champion in both WorldSBK and MotoGP, he’d become the first rider ever to do so.
